The Leadership Team at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital & Clinics works collaboratively with our communities, our patients and our dedicated staff to assure personalized and convenient care. 

Timothy Ahlers, FACHE, Chief Executive Officer 

Tim has served in health care leadership roles at hospitals and clinics for the last 20 years.  He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration, Master of Business Administration and Master of Health Administration from the University of Iowa.  He is a past chapter president and active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. “I am inspired by the healing provided by our team of professionals and driven by the opportunity to create an environment where our caregivers perform at their best.”

Robin Esmann, RN, Director of Performance Excellence

Robin earned her RN degree from St. Luke’s School of Nursing and celebrates a career of 33 years at GMHC. Robin leads the areas of Quality, Safety, Infection Control, and Regulatory, as well as the Surgery and Pharmacy departments. “The best part about being a leader at GMHC is the people I get to work with every day. We have a great team of employees and providers who work hard every day to ensure our patients receive high quality personalized care and have the best experience possible. I also enjoy sharing my knowledge and experiences that come with my tenure at GMHC.”

Lisa Manson, Director of Ambulatory Services

Lisa has her Master of Business Administration from the University of Dubuque. She has been employed at GMHC for ten years and in Healthcare Leadership for 37 years. Lisa oversees Cornerstone Family Practice Clinics, Specialty Clinics, Lab, Imaging, Rehab Services, Cardio-Pulmonary Services, and the Family Resource Center. “It is rewarding being in a leadership position at an organization that brings so much value to the community. I live here, get my healthcare services here and want those services to be the best they can possibly be.” 

Jill Knepper, Director of Finance & Support Services

Jill joined the GMHC Leadership Team five years ago after working in ambulatory surgery center administration for 15 years. She holds a Master’s degree in Health Administration from the University of Iowa. Jill oversees the departments of Finance, IT, Revenue Cycle and Support Services. “I enjoy being a leader at GMHC because of the personalized care we consistently give to our patients. Having grown up in a small town in Eastern Iowa, where I currently raise my children, I love that we provide quality healthcare close to home.”

Amy Speed, Director of Marketing & Development

Earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Iowa State University, Amy brings 30 years of marketing and design experience to GMHC. She has been part of GMHC Leadership for four years and brings creative energy to the team. In addition to being the Director of the Foundation of Cornerstone Communities, Amy also leads Culture and Wellness at GMHC. “I am blessed to be a part of a leadership team that cares deeply about its people and shares a common goal of securing the future of healthcare close to home.”

Keri Smith, Chief Nursing Officer

Keri has her Master’s in Nursing Leadership from Capella University and has been in her role at GMHC for one year. Keri oversees the Patient Care Unit as well as the Emergency Department. “GMHC offers a high level of care in the community in which I live. I know that if my family needs care, GMHC has the skill set and knowledge to provide it exceptionally. Our patients are not a number, they are a mother, father, sister, brother, neighbor and friend.”

Rennie Young, Human Resources Director

Rennie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Texas A&M and has been a member of the GMHC team for one year. She brings ten years of HR experience to her current position, as well as a genuine desire to help and serve the employees of GMHC. “The best thing about GMHC is the compassion the team members have when serving our patients, and the quality of one-on-one care they provide.”
