About Us

Guttenberg Municipal Hospital is a nonprofit municipal hospital established in 1961 under the charter of the City of Guttenberg, Iowa.  We function as a rural community hospital licensed in the state of Iowa to provide acute and skilled health care services. We remain an independent community hospital led by a 5 person elected Board of Directors.

In 1998, the Board voted to affiliate through a management agreement with The Finley Hospital located in Dubuque, Iowa.  Through the affiliation with The Finley Hospital, GMH also participates as a rural affiliate of the Iowa Health Systemas a member of the Iowa Health System Community Network. In 2001 Guttenberg Municipal Hospital was re-licensed through the state of Iowa as a Critical Access Hospital.
